On the occasion of Akshay Tritiya, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik released financial assistance of Rs 804 crore under the KALIA Yojana to farmers.According to information, an assistance of Rs 2,000 has been credited into the bank accounts of the beneficiary farmers in the state today, on the occasion of the prominent agrarian festival marking beginning of sowing of seeds for Kharif season in the State.

Kalia Yojana Beneficiary Status
Beneficiaries of Odisha Government’s Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) scheme will receive financial assistance of Rs 2,000, sources said.The amount will be credit to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through DBT mode on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya.In March, the government had extended the scheme by three years. A proposal in this regard was approved at a meeting of the State Cabinet.
As you all may be aware that the government is implementing the Kalia Yojana for the benefit of farmers. Through this scheme financial assistance is provided to the farmers. On 28th March 2022, the state cabinet approved Rs 5933 crore for the implementation of an income support scheme for 3 years which is from 2021-22 to 2023-24. 51 lakh farmers including 14 lakh landless agriculture labour will be covered under this scheme. This amount has been approved for the successful implementation of this scheme for 3 more years. The income of farmers will be increased with the implementation of this scheme. Since the inception of this Kalia yojana, the government has disbursed Rs 6000 crore into the bank account of farmers

The applicant must be a permanent resident of the Odisha state.
applicant must belong to the marginal or small category.

Any farmer who falls under the tax payment structure will not be allowed to apply for the KALIA Yojana.
